USA Track and Field New England is pleased to announce Cape Cod AC’s Riptide youth program as the awardee of one of our travel grants for the 2018 Cross Country season! Cape Cod AC plans to use this grant money to help pay for some of their youth qualifiers to travel to National JO XC in Reno, Nevada later this year.

Although in its first year, Riptide grew out of Cape Cod AC’s three year old youth team and focuses on sending a team to Junior Olympics each year. Kim Crowell, the director of the Riptide program, explains “Our goals are centered on personal improvement, targeting novice through elite-level runners. We have a vision to grow and develop Cape Cod's youth running community; we are focused on defining and striving toward personal goals, cultivating physical and mental stamina, encouraging teamwork and personal excellence.” In the past, Cape Cod AC qualified 7 runners for National JO’s, and looks to send many more. With a roster composing 19 strong middle school runners, Riptide is looking to up their high watermark and send many more.

New England Distance also received a grant for their youth program. Please see our interview with NE Distance here:
