Williams-Tinkham competed in the USATF Masters Throws Championship on August 5th and 6th at College of Holy Cross. She threw 10.00m in the Super Weight Throw setting a new American Record in the Women's 35-39 age group. With this throw, she also won her first gold medal at a National Championship.

"I felt very strong," said Williams-Tinkham, "It was only the second time I had ever done a throws pentathlon, so I really wanted to better my score. The Super Weight was early in the day, and I was so glad my husband, children and parents were there to see me break the record. Having my children see me compete and wear my medals is an incredible feeling. I love having the opportunity to be a positive athletic role model for them."

In addition to setting the American Record and gold medal, Williams-Tinkham placed third in the Throws Pentathlon and second in the Ultra Weight Pentathlon.
"This is my first meet since college, so I am very excited to get stronger and continue competing. Competing at this stage in my life is an amazing experience, because there is no graduation date, there is always next year! I am so inspired by the athletes in the age groups above me. It is incredible to see the men and women compete, especially those in the 80+ category!" said Williams-Tinkham when asked what she envisions for the future.
