Three pending US recors were set at the
USATF East Region and New England Outdoor Track & Field Championship held at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester MA. The previous week's high temperatures and high humidity broke, making for pleasant competition (and officiating) conditions.
All three pending records came on the women's side of the ledger.
Latricia Dendy (Southwest Sprinters/Bronx NY) bettered the
W45 400 hurdles record with a time of 1:06.68,
Tami Grant (Potomac Valley TC / Lusby MD) bettering the
W80 2000 meter steeplechase standard in 15:40.79, and
Diane Hoffman (Unattached/Chestnut Hill MA) now the US fastest women age
90+ for
100 meters, clocking 24.22 for the straightaway in her first career USATF event.
Team results had Philadelphia Masters (USATF Mid-Atlantic) topping the combined men/women point total, with USATF-New England clubs MassVelocity second and Twilight Throwers
Thanks to the dedicated crew of officials who moved the meet along on schedule.
