Cranmore hosts USATF Mountain Championships; Enman and Patterson earn Team USA spots

Results and full recap story

North Conway NH - The largest field in the 31-year history of the Cranmore Mountain Race enjoyed excellent weather, as the 2017 USATF Mountain Running Championships covered the challenging up-and-down loops in North Conway.
The men's and women's 10 km races, and novice 5k totaled over 300 runners. The top three in each championship race qualified for Team USA going to the World Mountain Running Championships in Premena Italy on July 30.
The top three women over the 2 lap up-and-down course are all veteran international runners, and were led by Addie Bracy (Longmont CO).  2011 World Champion Kasie Enman (GMAA/Huntington VT) finished third and Caitlin Patterson (Craftsbury Commons VT), a relative newcomer to mountain running but an accomplished nordic skier, claimed fourth place and the final USA team berth. Regina Loiacano (CMS/Gloucester MA) was top master and eighth overall.
The men's race went to past champion Joseph Gray (Colorado Springs) with Brandon Newbould (Whirlaway RT/Nottingham NH) eighth and Dan Button (Sisu Project/Acton MA) tenth, with Jim Johnson (CMS/Madison NH) one place back for top 40+ finisher.
USATF President Vin Lananna was on site for the championship, and served as race starter and presented awards.
