Harvey and Sabadosa Lead 10K Championship

Brian Harvey (B.A.A.) and Apryl Sabadosa (Western Mass. Distance Project) took home the gold at the USATF New England 10K Championship held at the Lone Gull 10K in Gloucester, MA.
Up until the last turn, it was still a close battle for first between Harvey, Louis Serafini of the Heartbreakers and Jonas Hampton of the B.A.A. It would be Harvey that would clock in first with a time of 30:11.8, with Serafini four seconds behind in 30:15.1. Hampton would cross the finish line at 30:21.3, with teammate Eric Ashe placing right behind him for fourth place.

Making her victory even more incredible, she ran the entire race barefoot. "I started running barefoot around five years ago. I started by wearing shoes that simulated running barefoot, but then decided to make the transition to run completely barefoot. It seems more natural for me," explained Sabadosa. Following close behind was Hilary Dionne of Craft Concept Racing who crossed the line at 35:37.4. Rounding out the top three for women was Heather Cappello of the B.A.A. who finished with a time of 36:11.7.
