Gaughan started March by breaking the 40 year old Lynn Jennings New England High School 2 mile record at the New England HS Indoor Championship.. “It has been a goal of mine to break the New England 2 mile record, so it was very satisfying to be able to accomplish that,” explained Gaughan.

One week after her record breaking run, Gaughan went on to run the ninth faster high school indoor 5,000 meter time in history to win the National Scholastic Championship. She returned a day later to take third in the 2 mile run. “It is really special when you are able to see all your hard work pay off. Winning the 5,000 meters was really exciting, and I had a lot of fun competing in the 2 mile,” said Gaughan. A member of Granite State Flash, Gaughan has been a Junior Olympic Cross Country competitor growing up.

When she’s not breaking records on the track, Gaughan enjoys playing tennis, swimming, reading, and spending times with her friends and family.

Next up for Gaughan is her senior year of outdoor track. Her next race will be at Penn Relays.
