Mikkelsen breaks American record at East Regional Masters Championships

Nearly 200 masters competed at the USATF New England and East Regional Indoor Championships at the Providence Career and Technical Academy facility on Sunday. One new US record was established, as Lisa Mikkelsen (Holliston MA) stopped the clock at 1:02.24 for a new W50 US record in the 400m.
The top age graded performances for men and women each earned $150. The best track marks were turned in by Manny Garcia (Deering NH, M50 60m) and Jan Holmquist (Whirlaway RT / Burlington MA, W70 Mile) while the best field performances came from David Montieth (Ridgefield CT, M70 High Jump), and Oneithea Lewis (Oakland Gardens NY, W55 Weight Throw).

Lewis also won the Jim Chamberas Award for Meet's Outstanding Thrower for winning all three throws, the weight distance being just 2 centimeters short of the age division record.
