Rosie Donegan of Battle Road Track Club is USA Track & Field (USATF) New England's Athlete of the Month for January 2018. Donegan started the new year by winning the 3000 meters at the B.U. Terriers Classic with a time of 9:17.15. She beat out second and third place by less than one second. Her time earned her 1203 IAAF points.

Her 3000 meter time is a personal best, despite problems with her footwear one mile into the race. "About a mile into the race, the insole of my spike had slipped up and was hanging out the side of my shoe. Seeing how I was in the lead, and it wasn't coming out completely, I just tried to ignore it and focus the race," explained Donegan.

One week later, Donegan won the mile in 4:43 at the GBTC Indoor Invitational. Up next for Donegan is the 2018 Australian Athletics Championships where she will compete in the 5000 meters and the 3000 meters Steeplechase. Following that, Donegan will compete in her first half marathon at the New York City Half in March, followed by the World University Cross Country Championships in Switzerland in April.

Outside of running, Donegan is a Research Coordinator and she enjoys travlling, hiking, doing yoga, baking and eating baked goods.
