USATF New England Indoor Points Chase


USA Track & Field New England (USATF NE) is proud to announce the addition of a new Grand Prix series for the 2017/2018 Indoor Track & Field Season. Created by Track & Field Chair Jeff Rockwood, the Indoor Points Chase allows athletes of different event types to compete on the same playing field. Using the IAAF scoring table, results in the 60m, 60mH, 400m, 800m, 1500m/mile, 3000m, LJ, TJ, HJ, PV, SP, WT are eligible to compete in the series.

A complete list of rules follows:

  1. Athlete must be current USATF-New England Member

  2. Results must be from a meet within USATF-NE association geography

           (NH, VT, RI, MA)

  1. Athlete must compete at USATF-New England Championships 2/18/18

  2. 4 total performances including only one from USATF-NE Championships

  3. Athlete accumulates points based on 2017 updated IAAF scoring table

  4. Athletes with season’s best performance at New England Championships will be awarded 100 bonus points.  (Bonus will only apply to one event with the highest score)

  5. All results must be submitted by athlete/coach throughout the season to track & field chairman. (Results submitted by Monday after a weekend meet will be included in weekly updates)

  1. Performances must be FAT, field events should be metric

  2. Performances must be submitted with link to meet results

  3. Events eligible are 60m, 60mH, 400m, 800m, 1500m/mile, 3000m, LJ, TJ, HJ, PV, SP, WT

  4. Performances do not need to be in the same event.  Best scores will be used.

  5. In the event of a tie, prize will be awarded to the athlete with best 2nd performance

  6. Continually updated standings will be available on USATF-New England website and promoted on social media.  Performance of the weekend and current leader board will be posted.

  7. Performance window for 1st 3 results December 2, 2017 to February 11, 2018

  8. Deadline for performance submission is Monday February 12, 2018

  9. Prize winners will be awarded at the conclusion of New England Championships

  10. Athlete must be present to receive award.

  11. Must be 18 years old and not a current NCAA athlete to accept prize money.

  12. Masters athletes are eligible, however, there will be no age grading.
