New Englanders Run Well at Boston Marathon
Among competitors from 50 states and around the globe, the top USATF New England association entrants placed high in the finisher field. Bay State residents led the locals, with

(Brighton/The Heartbreakers) 32nd at 2:22:51.

won both women's team bowls. The trio of Rachel Hyland, Rachel Coogan, and Lauren Philbrook scored a decisive Open team win in 8:16:08, with Greater Boston TC eighth and Millennium Running ninth. The Unicorn Masters Women's team of Lindsay Willard, Kate Santoro, and Kerry Swords matched the open team, topping the 40+ standings in 9:48:52. BEN Running took a strong third, followed by Winner Circle (fifth) and Somerville Road Runners (eighth).
The Men's Open standings found four NE teams in the top 10; GBTC (third), B.A.A. (fourth), Tracksmith (sixth), and Central Mass Striders (tenth). CMS was runner-up in the Men's Masters standings with Dirigo third and B.A.A. sixth.
