Sisson, Purrier, Jonathas earn positions on Team USA World Championship squad

Team New Balance teammates Elinor Purrier and Emily Sisson, along with sprinter Wadeline Jonathas ran to berths on Team USA for the upcoming World Track & Field Championships in Doha in September.
Purrier, a Vermont native and University of New Hampshire graduate, earned her first USA uniform, placing third in the 5000 meters.   Sisson ran to the silver medal in the 10,000 meter race.
Jonathas, from Worcester and a multi-time NCAA Division 3 National champion at UMass Boston before transferring to South Carolina, placed third in the 400 meters, running a personal best time of 50.44.  She'll run the 4x400 relay as well as the individual one lapper in Doha.
A larger-than-usual roster of New Englanders competed in the four day meet held at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.
