Gatorade HS Athletes of the Year announced

June 29, 2020

GATORADE HS TF ATHLETES OF THE YEAR ANNOUNCED

Despite not having an outdoor season for evaluation, the Gatorade company still recognized scholastic student-athletes nationwide for the 35th year with the announcement of their 2020 Track & Field Competitors of the Year.

Individuals are selected based on three pillars - athletic excellence, academic achievement and exemplary character. Fortunately, New England had a full indoor season of performances, but also included past successes.  Only athletes who ran for their high schools over the past calendar year were considered.

Girls
MA: Makayla Paige, Tewksbury, middle distance (junior)
NH: Caroline Fischer, Bishop Guertin - Nashua, distance (senior)
RI: Sophia Gorriaran, Moses Brown - Providence, middle distance (freshman)
VT: Rebecca Crosier,  Mt.Anthony Union - Bennington, sprints (senior)
