NEW BEDFORD HALF MARATHON CANCELLED

The region is seeing more events of all types being cancelled or postponed due to concerns about the COVID-19 virus. 
The City of New Bedford and the New Bedford Half Marathon Committee announced on Tuesday that Sunday's Half Marathon is cancelled due to public health concerns. The press release is found at newbedfordhalfmarathon.com
 
The affect of the race cancellation on the 2020 USATF-NE Grand Prix will be discussed in the coming weeks. Should you see such cancellations announced in the future, realize these decisions are not being made in a vacuum solely by a single race director or small committee. Facility owners, municipal governments, and state health authorities are involved in such decisions to greater or lesser extents. Our LDR chairs will discuss how this and potential future race cancellations may impact the 2020 Grand Prix.
