Cheetah TC wins at Junior Olympics National Cross Country

Overcomes rugged weather to win Boys 9-10 division. NE Elite takes 2 third places

Cheetah Track Club (Portsmouth NH) won the team title for the Boys Age 9-10 division this weekend at the USATF Junior Olympic National Cross Country Championships in Paris, Kentucky.

USATF-New England teams and individuals performed against both the challenging competition in large fields and the less than optimal conditions - wet and muddy with strong gusty windy.  The schedule was delayed twice due to the weather; the devasting overnight tornados in the state were only 2 counties away.

The Cheetahs' top finisher over the 3000 meter course was Zachary Lefebvre in 15th place, running 12:00.95. He was joined on the podium by Reid Pippen (32), Gavin Leader (33), Lucas LaFleur (39) and Broden Cox (55).

New England Elite scored third place finishes in both the Girls 13-14 and 15-18 competitions, and USATF-NE youth brougth home ten top-10 finishes, including a trio of silver medal races by New England Elite runners - Kata Clark (Girls 13-14), Abigail Beville (Girls 17-18), and Paul Bergeron (Boys 15-16).
