Masters take center stage at Nationals

A week after top scholastic athletes competed at the New York City Armory, the USATF Masters National Indoor Championships drew the top masters (age 25+) to the facility for three days of action.

New England was well represented on the podium, with Flo Meiler (Shelburne VT/Sprinticity) the busiest competitor.  She made 7 trips to the top step for wins in the 85-89 age division and recorded three US records in the process - long jump (2.22m/7-03.5), 60m hurdles (18.73), and pentathlon 3907

Mass Velocity Track Club was also a barrier breaker. Their men's 4x400 quartet of Shigeki Makino, Timothy Hoff, Karl Ross, and David Neumann brought the baton home in 4:14.22 for a new USA age 55-59 division Club team record.

The Masters Indoor Championship meet heads to Spokane, Washington, in 2023, with the 2022 Outdoor meet scheduled for Louisville, Kentucky July 28-31.
