New England clubs win at USATF National Junior Olympic Cross Country
NE Elite, Sentinel Striders win titles in age 15-18 age group
The Youth cross country season ended at the
2022 USATF National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships
in College Station, TX where a total of 2938 athletes were entered from around the country. Two New England clubs came home as National Champions, both in the 15-18 division.
New England Elite
girls scored 45 points and won on the tie breaker - best 5th scorer - over Region 1 rival Prospect Park of New York.
Sentinel Striders
of Rhode Island closed the day's racing with a win in the Boys 15-18 race - also over Prospect Park - but with 86-92 margin in the 21 team field.
Waltham TC
girls earned age 13-14 division team bronze medals in their 26 team race.
The top 25 finishers in each age division earned all-American honors and recognition at the awards ceremony. 26 New England association runners achieved that honor. (sorted by age division)
