Top USATF-NE individual finishes at Club National XC Championship
USATF New England was well represented in all 5 races at the USATF Fall
Nationals Club Cross Country Championships in Tacoma WA on Sunday. Conditions were as challenging as the course with the temperatures in the high 40's accompanied by rain and steady winds gusting to 40 mph. Participation was among the largest of any past Club Nationals.
Sisters
Megan and Bethany Hasz (Boston Athletic Association)
placed third and fourth in the open women's 6km race, both timed in 20:35 and closely behind winner Allie Buchalski (Brooks Beasts, 20:28)
Maddy Berkson
(29th 21:44) led
Battle Road TC
to 14th place among 35 scoring teams with 374 points.
In the Open Men's 10km race, 2024 Olympic steeplechase medalist
Kenneth Rooks led the 407 competitors from gun to wire, clocking 31:09. New England clubs placing among the 51 scoring team included
Old Goat TC
(23rd, 679 points),
Battle Road TC
(28th, 797 points) and
Greater Boston TC
(43rd, 1159 points).
The women's masters 6km race was first event over the course, with
Jennifer Lutz
(Battle Road) 10th overall (7th W40-44) in the overall field of 212. Earning age group podium places were

(B.A.A., W55, 3rd) and
Mary Cass
(Liberty AC, W60, 3rd) who was also 3rd overall in age graded scoring. Top New England age group team placings came from

(14th of 21 teams),

6th of 12 teams), and
W60+ Liberty AC
(5th of 9 teams)
Men's masters, totaling an even 500 finishers, were broken into 2 races, 10km for M40-59 and 8km for M60+. Scoring age group silver medals were
