Open/Masters Cross Country Championships draws large field

Led by first place individual finishers in their races, Rhode Island TC men and Battle Road TC women won team titles at USATF New England Cross Country Championships on Sunday at Franklin Park on Sunday, the final event in the 2025 USATF-NE XC Grand Prix.  Overnight rains left parts of the course wet, soft and slick, but steady winds dried out the loops during the morning.  333 runners took part over the 3 race schedule on the modified course used this year due to the White Stadium construction project.

Aaron Gruen barely held off Danny Cosgrove (Notch) at the finish line in the men's race as both recorded the same time, while women's winner Marta Moreno Carcoles had a comfortable 14 second gap over her closest challenger, Brooke Mullins (B.A.A.). First age 40+ in the women's
