The Massachusetts Middle School Cross Country Championships, founded by Joe Abelon, is hosted and managed by USATF New England.
Runners will represent their MA Middle School; the school does not need to have a formal cross country program to compete. No non-MA runners
ONLINE ENTRY
REGISTRATION SYSTEM FOR 2026
Entries will be done only on Athletic.net
A coach account must be set up and rosters added to that school
Last year's participants should have a school account set up.
Entry deadline is Sunday, November 1, 12:00 noon
Entry fee is $10 per runner plus online proessing fees.

GRADE RACES
: 6 Races Total
5th and 6th Grade combined, 7th Grade, 8th Grade for both boys and girls
An unlimited runners from a school can enter the grade races
TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS:
4 Races Total
By School Division (1 and 2) for both boys and girls (see below)
Order is Girls 2, Girls 1, Boys 2, Boys 1
Teams require a minimum of 5 competitors and max of 7 competitors
Teams with more than 7 runners can enter additional runners in the grade races
Teams must run in their assigned division team race division

AWARDS
INDIVIDUAL:
Medals to the top 15 finishers in grade races and 25 finishers in Team Championship races
TEAM:
The top 3 teams in the Championship Races receive trophies
TIME:
The individual boys and girls with the day’s top 3 times overall receive trophies
SOUVENIR T-SHIRTS
A limited number of T-shirts with race design and listing participating schools will be available for $20. Cash or check only.
ELIGIBILITY
All runners’ teams will be listed as representing the Massachusetts middle school they attend. The school does
not
need to have a formal cross country program or team to participate
All Massachusetts public, parochial, charter, and private middle schools are eligible to run. Home school students may run in the grade races only
No combined schools, No town “all-star teams”. Runners must be students of that middle school.
Regarding Grades 5 through 8
. – Fifth/sixth graders
must attend that specific middle school
. Middle schools starting earlier than 5
th
grade may only run grade 5-8 students. No elementary school 5th or 6th graders
Students in a grade 7-12 school may participate in grade or team races, Grade 7-8 runners only - no 9th Graders
DIRECTIONS:
GPS address is 1 Sherman Ave, Devens MA 01434
Route 2 to Jackson Rd / Devens exit. Follow to designated parking areas (short walk) There may be construction restricting full driving access near the course itself.
The course is at Willard Field.
Parking lots are in close proximity to course.
Please car pool and share rides
; parking is limited.
PARK ONLY IN DESIGNATED AREAS and FOLLOW MONITORS’ INSTRUCTIONS.
NO PARKING IN DROP-OFF AREAS, ON STREETS, OR ON GRASS.
TICKETING AND TOWING WILL BE ENFORCED
TOILETS:
on site. Runners “using” the woods will immediately disqualify the entire team from all races
TRASH: If you bring anything in, please carry it out!
DOGS ARE ABSOLUTELY NOT ALLOWED AT THE RACE SITE OR ON ANY FIELDS AT DEVENS
Pass this information along to athletes’ families and spectators.
Leave dogs at home. Individuals with dogs without proper service dog credentials will not be allowed beyond the parking lots. Individuals with dogs will be asked to immediately leave the facility.
WATER: Individuals should bring their own water bottle/fluids
WEATHER ISSUES:
There is no plan to postpone the meet to another date. Conditions (lightning, heavy rain, snow) may cause delays. Check
