USATF-NE Road Mile Championships

   ** New location as of June 1 due to town construction at original location

Event Information
The USATF New England 1 Mile Road Championships will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
There are five (5) championship races scheduled plus an All-Comers and a Youth (age 17 and under) Mile. 

Course Information
The course is a two lap course on the Holliston High School grounds.

2026 USATF-NE membership required 

To sign up for the championship races, please register online with the
    CHAMPIONSHIP RACE ONLINE ENTRY
    USATF-NE Championship entry fee   $25
Entry for the USATF-NE Championship races closes Thursday, July 16 at 11:59 PM - 2 days before the event.
There will be NO race day sign-up for championship races. 

The first 450 entrants in the championship adult race will receive a commerative item

COMMUNITY AND YOUTH RACES
USATF Membership is not required
We invite non-members to run in the Community All-Comers Mile and the Youth Mile for runners 17 and under. No USATF membership is required. This is not a championship event.

To sign up for the community events, please register online with the
   All-Comers and Youth Races Online Entry
   Community/All-Comers Mile (age 18+) $ 30
   Youth Mile   (age 17/under)               $ 10
Online entry for the Community/All-Comers and Youth races closes Thursday, July 16, 11:59 PM. Day of event entry will be accepted only for the non-championship and Youth races from 8:00 - 8:45 a.m. at the race site.

Number Pick up
Championship numbers will be distributed by team. A team leader or representative can pick up the envelop of numbers and pins at the registration table. Numbers must be worn on the front. Do not bend the timing tag.
Runners in the All-Comers and Youth Mile pick up their numbers individually at the registration table. 

Runners in the masters (age 40+) division will also be given an age-group number to wear on the back.

9:30 a.m. - Youth age 17/under 
10:00 a.m. Masters Men Age 60+
10:25 a.m. Masters Men Age 40-59
10:50 a.m. Open Men
11:15 a.m. Masters Women Age 40+
11:40 a.m. Open Women

Mile Championships Competition Rules
  1. The USATF-NE Road Grand Prix Team scoring is by total net time of the required number of runners in a division, lowest total time wins. In the open, 40+ and 50+ categories for both women and men 5 runners are needed to score. In all older (60+, 70+, 80+) age categories, 3 runners are needed to score.
  2. Team scoring: In all USATF-NE Road Grand Prix Races, runners may score in any age category for which they are eligible. Older runners may score in any younger team divisions as well as their own team age division. At the 1 Mile Road Championships, Open Teams will be scored based on the top 5 times achieved in either the open or masters races (combined race results). Net times will be used as at other championship events. In masters races, older runners can be scored in younger categories, such a 60 year old runner scoring on a 40+ team. 
  3. In the Open races, individual places will be determined by gun time.
  4. In the Masters races, individual places will be determined by net time.  
AWARDS
Championshp Medals
Individual USATF Championshp medals to top 3 Open and top 3 in each 5 year Masters age division
Medals will be distributed at a location and time to be announced.
Medals not picked up will NOT be mailed. 

Prize Money - Individual and Team.
Prize Money is limited to USATF-NE Individual Members and USATF-NE Member Clubs.
No cash awards are distributed on race day.
Individuals cannot 'double dip' to win prize money in more than one age category.

Community All-Comers and Youth Mile
Awards for the top 3 female/male finishers in each race. The top three can pick up awards at the USATF table as soon as results are final and posted.

Fastest New England Miler is Each State
The fastest New England Milers from each state will be crowned. The titles will go to:
  • The fastest female and male in the open category for each New England State
  • ​The fastest age-grade female and male in the master category for each New England State
Awards are provided by 

Awards will be mailed to recipients after the race. No double dipping on the Fastest Miler awards. Runners can receive the prize money and the Fastest Miler award, but not fastest open miler and fastest masters age graded miler.

Parking is available at the school.
Other parking may be limited.Overflow parking will be announced.

Team Tents
Teams are welcome to bring team tents.  Tents may only be set up in the field between the school ad the stadium.

No alcohol is allowed on school or town property. 

Runners cannot warm-up on the race course roadway but there are ample fields around the high school.

Clean Up
Please help us leave the Holliston School property as clean or cleaner than it was when we arrived. Please clean up after yourselves and your team and use available trash recepticles! 

Post-Race Celebration
Celebrate your mile at Clover Road Brewing Company at 151 Main St, in Ashland. Food truck will be on site. 

Club Coach and Administrator Registration Guidance
We recommend that each individual runner sign up for the race on their own in order to sign their own liability waivers. SimplyRegister does allow teams coaches or administrators to use a roster. If you choose to register members of your team, registered club administrators will find a club roster will appear after signing in to SimplyRegister using your Club # and USATF Membership Credentials. (Login Screen Shot)
