The USATF-NE Points Chase is back for 2026

First standings posting after December 14
POINTS CHASE RESULTS REPORTING FORM
Athletes compete during the indoor season with performances earning points from meets held
December 6 through March 15
All standard indoor events are included.
Athletes submit their performances
within 3 weeks after each meet
and USATF-NE does the scoring.
Open
competitors' performances will score points from the
World Athletics scoring tables
The tables allow comparisons across all event discipline as well as comparisons of men's and women's performances.
Open athletes'
top 4
scores during the season
are totaled for final placings.
The performances much come from at least 3 different meets.
Athletes competing in the USATF-NE Open Championship earn bonus points.
Masters
score their best 3 performance using the age graded points from the 2023 World Masters Association age graded scoring tables. Masters do not get championship bonus points.
The top 4 scoring open athletes in male and female categories earn cash awards.
The top 4 Masters totaling age graded percentages also win cash awards. Masters standings and awards will combine genders.
2025-26 RULES and ELIGIBILITY
POINTS CHASE RESULTS REPORTING FORM
Rules Basics
- Participants must be 2026 USATF-New England members at least 18 years old. NCAA athletes are not eligible.
- Results must be from meets held within the USATF-New England association states (NH, VT, RI, MA). However, one performance (only) may be achieved in a meet outside of the NE association.
- Open athletes competing at the USATF-NE Championships on February 22 receive 100 bonus points.
- Results must be submitted by the athlete or coach during the season via the entry submission link within 3 weeks of the meet Final submission deadline for all performances is March 15 for all competitors.
- Track performances must have Fully Automatic Timing (FAT) results. Field event marks must be reported in metric distances/heights. A link to full meet results must be submitted with the performance
- Open atlete performances must come from at least 3 different meets.
Masters Exceptions
All the above rules are in effect with the following exceptions
1. Final score is the best three (3) total performances
2. Points are awarded based on WMA age grading tables (
2023 Tables
)
3. No bonus points are awarded for any meet.
4. Performances must come from at least 2 different meets.
5. Masters are considered age 30+ and only score in the Mastes category. They may not score in both Open and Masters divisions.
