Wadeline Jonathas leads New England Athletes to Glory in Austin

NCAA D1 Track and Field Outdoor Finals

 

New England Collegians Compete at NCAA Division 1 Nationals

 

Over the weekend, 17 NCAA athletes with ties to the New England association competed at the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship in Austin, Texas. These athletes include students who are enrolled in local area colleges, and students who have grown up in USATF-NE states but compete for schools outside the Association’s borders.

 

Our athletes competed in many events ranging from the 400 meters to the 10000 meters, and in numerous field events. Highlighted by Wadeline Jonathas’ (Worcester, MA native) win in the 400M in 50.60 to take home the crown, our athletes put forth some great marks. Here are their performances.

 

400m

Wadeline Jonathas (Worcester MA/UMassBoston) JR, South Carolina: 50.06, NCAA Champion

Also was part of South Carolina’s 4x400m relay team, which placed third overall.

 

800m

Miles Marshall, SR, Harvard: 1:58.55

 

1500m

Lotte Black, Rhode Island: 4:13.02, 4th overall

Millie Paladino, SR, Providence: 4:14.84

Paige Duca, JR, Boston College: 4:22.08

Anna Juul, SO, Harvard: 4:23.57

 

5000m

Abbey Wheeler, JR, Providence: 16:23.42, 14th overall

Thomas Ratcliffe, (Concord MA) SO, Stanford: 14:07.92, 3rd overall

 

10000m

Paul Hogan, SR, UMass Lowell: 29:42.60, 11th overall

Sean Burke, JR, Boston College: 30:01.13, 16th overall

Jacqueline Gaughan (Exeter, NH), FR, Notre Dame: DNF

 

3000m Steeplechase

Brianna Ilarda, SR, Providence: 10:11.63, 10th overall

 

High Jump

Jada Harris, SO, Umass Amherst: 1.70m (5'7")

 

Discus

Sam Welch: FR, Harvard: 59.54 (195'4"), 6th overall

 

Pole Vault

Erick Duffy, JR, Harvard: 5.20m (17'0.75")

 

Hammer Throw

Bobby Colantonio (Providence RI), FR, Alabama: 66.65m (218'8")

 

Decathlon

Benjamin Ose, SR, Dartmouth: 7445, 9th overall
