USATF-NE:
Congratulations on setting another American record!
KB:
Thank you so much for the recognition! I am truly honored!
What does it mean to you to have set both the 3k and 1500 W50 American records?
KB:
Setting the American record for the 3K and 1500 has made me feel a sense of "accomplishment"! I never imagined at age 50 I would be breaking records. All those early morning runs and hard workouts have made it worth it!
How have you matched your training to meet your needs?
KB:
As far as training, My AMAZING coaches have tailored my training to meet my racing goals. Depending on the race, we've adjusted the mileage and workouts accordingly. I have been a bit all over the place with my training. This past year I have trained for a 1500m track race up to a marathon and just about every distance in between. They have been a tremendous support throughout my training.
Anyone you would like to thank?
KB:
A HUGE thank you to my coaches Bob Rothenberg and Jon Barnes. Without them, this would never have been possible. I have learned so much from them. AND thank you to the B.A.A. for their support.
What’s next for you?
KB:
Next for me is the Master's Mile at the New Balance Grand Prix meet on January 25. We'll see what happens there!
