Runners Master Franklin Park XC Course at Championship

USATF Masters 5km Championship has quality and numbers

Returning to Boston's Franklin Park which hosted the 2017 event, the USATF Masters 5km Cross Country Championships had a great day to show off the abilities of runners age 40+.  The 287 entrants was third largest in event history, and the representative national field including teams from California, Colorado, Georgia, and Pennsylvania among those taking home championship titles. 

Two of the three races contested - Men age 60+, Men 40-59, and Women - were won by New Englanders; Kasie Enman (Green Mountain AA/W40) won the overall women's race, and Chris Garvin (HFC Striders/M40) led the men's 40-59 field.  Other local winners of five year age divisions were Karolyn Bowley (B.A.A./W50), Alda Cossi (Libety AC/W65), Anne Pelletier (North Shore Striders, W70), Ann Molloy (Gr.Lowell RR/W75) in the women's race, and Jason Holroyd (B.A.A./M45), Nat Larson (Gr.Springfield Harriers/M55), and Bill Borla (NE 65+/M80).
Three home association clubs also won divisions - B.A.A. (M40+), Central Mass Striders (M50+), and New England 65+ RC (M80+).
