Gaughan sets course record at 10 Mile Championship
AutoFair New Hampshire 10 Miler, Auburn NH
USATF-NE 10 Mile Championship
at AutoFair NH 10 Miler, August 26, Auburn NH
A new women's course record highlighted the
AutoFair New Hampshire 10 Miler
serving as the USATF-NE championship. Though humidity was high, temperatures at race time were lower than have welcomed runners in past years and full sun was minimal, leading to quality times over the traditional hilly course.
Jackie Gaughan
(Craftsbury Green Racing Project/Exeter NH) toured the single loop around Lake Massabesic in 56:47, nearly 3 minutes ahead of teammate and NE 5 mile champion
Katie Kellner
(59:32) and
Tammy Hsieh
(Tracksmith Boston Hares, 59:37).
Ben Drezek
(Tracksmith) moved up to the top spot on the podium after a championshp silver 2 weeks ago, running 51:14, comfortably in front of the B.A.A. duo of
Erik Linden
(51:48) and
Thomas Toth
(52:01); Linden's second place keeps him at the top the men's GP scoring totals.
Though
Hartbeat New England
was the first club to record 5 men's finishers, the
B.A.A
.'s faster front runners in 2-3-4 gave them the faster men's team time and the win,
Battle Road TC
won the women's team title by just 47 seconds over
Whirlaway Racing Team
.
Jenn Lutz
(Battle Road, W40),
Rebecca Trachsel
(Whirlaway, W45) and
Karolyn Bowley
(B.A.A., W50) still have perfect scores through five championshps.
Millennium Running
hosted another championship quality event for members. Overall and USATF results are found at
