Tufts University swept the team titles, witth both the men (26 points) and women (47 points) outlegging Yale, second in both event. Twenty scoring teams, including NCAA and collegiate club teams (NIRCA) filled the results.
The Codfish Bowl was founded by the late
Bill Squires
while he was coaching at Boston State College (now UMass Boston) and was the first local cross country meet which welcomed both club and college runners - meets were college or open only up til then. USATF New England took ownership in the late 1990's.
