USATF-NE Youth clubs at front of pack in Region 1 Junior Olympic cross country
USATF-NE clubs and athletes were dominent at the
USATF Region 1 Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships
held at Queensbury New York High School on November 19. New England association runners made up over half of the 789 competitors coming from 6 USATF associations. Ten championship races for boys and girls covered age divisons from age 8 and under to 15-18.
The top 5 teams and other individuals finishing among the top 30 in each race qualified for the USATF National Junior Olympic Championships on December 9 in Louisville, Kentucky.
Seven USATF-NE clubs won team titles
with 26 total teams representing 8 clubs qualifying to advance to Nationals.
