Open / Masters Championship meet enjoys good competition
Athletes from age 14 up to their 80's enjoyed Ideal conditions for a summer meet and good competitions at the USATF-NE Open and Masters Track & Field Championships and the USATF-NE Pole Vault Championshiop held July 27-28. There were 304 indivduals who recorded performances at Saturday's meet at Regis College, the largest meet entry post-Covid.
A pair of new clubs were team winners.
Bounce Squad,
based in the metrowest Boston area and focusing on jumps and hurdles, was women's champions and
Speed Performance Factory
from the Lowell/Tyngsborough area scored in many events to top the men's totals.
With large numbers recently, the pole vault has been held as a separate day of competition hosted by Patriot Pole Vault Club at Westborough High School. Forty-two jumpers compted spread over three flights.
