USATF-NE runners score well at Junior Olympic Nationals
New England Elite, Valhalla place 2-3 in girls age 15-18 results
New England Elite
and
Valhalla RC
topped USATF-NE club performances at the
USATF Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships
in Shelbyville Indiana on Saturday. Teams and individuals advanced by place from Regional or Association Championship races in November.
In the Girls 15-18 team scoring, New England Elite and Valhalla RC placed 2-3.
Three USATF-NE boys cracked the top 10 in their races; In the Age 13-14 4000m race,
Noah Geiger
(Waltham TC) placed 8th, while
Gunner Currier
(Granite State Flash (9th) and
Tylar Mogavero
(NE Elite, 10th) did the same in the age 15-18 race. Geiger's run was outstanding considering the size of the field - 421 finishers and 37 teams.
The largest race of the day for girls was also the age 13-14 division with 394 finishers and 37 teams. New England advanced 4 of the 5 teams from Region 1 to Nationals in both 13-14 races. The boys Age 11-12 300m also had over 400 (410) cross the line and 37 Teams - Wow!
