Club National runs on Worlds course

The day following the World Cross Country Championships, the USATF Club Cross Country Nationals ran 5 races over the same 2km loop course in Tallahassee, Florida, with some New England successes.  The change in date of the Worlds to January nudged various aspects of the USA harrier schedule.

Ben Drezek (Tracksmith Boston Hares) was top finisher in the men's Open Championship, placing 9th individually and helping Tracksmith to 5th as a team.
Leading New England runners in the Women's Open Championship was Alexandra Lucki of the B.A.A. in lucky13th.  Tracksmith again led local clubs in 8th.  Minnesota Distance Elite won the team title with all five scorers in the top 7

Individual and team medals were earned in the three masters men's races.  The Men's 40-59 10 km race saw Tracksmith Boston Hares sweep the M45 podium spots with Ed Baker, Alex Taylor, and Eric Blake.  Adding M40 bronze medal winner Joe Reynolds to the mix, the club placed second among M40+ teams behind West Valley TC, 30-45.
In the M60+ 8km race, John Barbour (Greater Lowell RR) was gold in the M70 competition, with teammate David Westenberg bringing home the M65 bronze.

Jess Minty (Battle Road TC) placed 4th overall in the masters women's 6km, and combined with teammates Kristina Gracey and Sasha Mindel to place third in the W40 team competition.  Liberty AC placed third in the W60 team standings.
