ELECTIONS
Process - Candidate nominations and seconds (with names) may be submitted by email to president@newengland.usatf.org or secretary@newengland.usatf.org - Except for President and Treasurer, Positions may be nominated up to the meeting date, and nominations are allowed at the meeting. Nominations for President and Treasurer must be submitted 20 days prior to the meeting - ALL individuals elected or appointed to serve on the USATF-NE Board are required to complete the USATF Background Screening and SafeSport training within 30 days of the Association Annual Meeting to remain eligible for the position. - Candidate lists will be updated regularly and posted here
RESPONSIBILITIES * Attend Board meetings and organize meetings pertaining to their sport * Arrange for the conduct of championships, assist in management of, and attend those championships * Adjudicate problems and protests in regards to sport specific competition and programs * Help promote events and work to establish development programs which increase participation and quality* Work with the Association in securing sponsorship for conducting events as appropriate
ATHLETE REPRESENTATIVES - Three (3) positions elected for a one-year term. Candidates must be active competitive athletes in the association or have competed representing the USA in international competition within the past 10 years
RESPONSIBILITIES * Voice of athletes to the board and the sports chairs * Attend monthly Board meetings and serve as liaison between athletes, events, and Association * Get feedback from athletes regarding events/management, programs, clinics, schedules and share with board * Attend championships and other events and assist in adjudication of problems along with sports chairs, * Assist with planning and implementation of development projects and scheduling in their areas of expertise
USATF ANNUAL MEETING DELEGATES December 5-8, 2024 in Orlando, FL. As of July 31, The New England association is eligible to have 18 delegates at the meeting. We may become eligible for a 19th delegate before October 31. At the September 9th meetings, the New England board approved a per delegate expense reimbursement in the amount of the on-time Meeting Registration Fee ($290) + $600 to cover reasonable and customary airfare and lodging costs. 2024 Annual Meeting - 2024 is a major election year. ===================== USATF NE Youth Chair Election Process from bylaws Voting for Youth Athletics Committee Chair shall be by club and limited to clubs active in youth athletics disciplines (“Youth Club”). A Youth Club shall be defined as a USATF club having a youth program and at least one coach meeting the USATF Youth background check and Safesport requirement. Youth Clubs with 1-9 youth members shall have one vote. Youth Clubs with 10-24 youth members shall have two votes. Youth Clubs with 25-49 members shall have three votes. Youth Clubs with 50-99 members shall have four votes. Youth clubs with 100 or more youth members shall have five votes.
