USATF New England Junior Olympic Track & Field Championship Friday and Saturday, June 12 and 13, 2026 Fitchburg State University, Fitchburg MA To better accommodate participants and better utilize facilities, several events will again be contested on Friday afternoon in 2026 The New England Association Championship is the first leg in the Junior Olympic program, open to all youth ages 6-18 with no qualifying standards Divisions are based on year of birth (age on December 31) 8/under - Born 2018 and later 9-10 - Born 2016 and 2017 11-12 - Born 2014 and 2015 13-14 - Born 2012 and 2013 15-16 - Born 2010 and 2011 17-18 - Born 2008 and 2009, and born after July 28, 2007 This is the New England qualifying event for the Region 1 Championship meet June 25-28. ENTRY PROCESS Entry will open May 1 and close Tuesday, June 9 at 11:59 p.m. Entry is online only using athletic.net Entry fee is $10 per individual event. There are no fees for relays. - Ages 11/12 and under may enter up to 3 events including relays - Ages 13/14 and older may enter up to 4 events including relays - Relays count as an event as do those events entered by waiver. - The combined events (triathlon/pentathlon/heptathlon/decathlon) do NOT count against the maximum. Events with Waivers To Region 1 The combined events and the 4 x 800m relay are not contested at the New England meet. Those interested in advancing to Region 1 in the events must request a waiver. - Email the request to youth@newengland.usatf.org before June 5 - Individuals and clubs entering events via waivers into the Region 1 meet must still enter and pay the fee for those events for the New England meet. The 'waiver' fee for the 4 x 800m relay and the combined events (decathlon/heptathlon/pentathlon/triathlon) is $10 Region 1 Qualification/ Advancement All 6 associations in Region 1 will advance the top 8 (eight) per event in each age division and sex to the Region 1 meet Qualifying for Nationals The top _5_ (five) finishers in each age group in each event at the Region 1 meet qualify for the National Championship in Cerritos College, California Updated May 4 June 25-28 - USATF Region 1 Championship WEBSITE Gordon College, Wenham MA July 27 - August 2 - USATF National Junior Olympic Championship Cerritos College, Norwalk California WEBSITE Notes on popular questions - Parking - No fee - park as directed in the Civic Center Lot. It is less than a 5 minute walk from parking to the track - There is not an admission fee to the association meet. - There is a food concession - No glass bottles may be brought in to the stands or competition areas - Throwers must bring their own implements. Weigh-in will be located next in the restroom building - Absolutely no dogs (except identifiable service dogs) allowed in the track, stands, or spectator areas.
