Regional championship and qualifying meet for Nationals
Updated as of June 6 2026 USATF Region 1 Track & Field Championships GORDON COLLEGE, WENHAM MA Thursday - Sunday, June 25-28, 2026 Hosted by the USATF New England association REGISTRATION is at Athletic.net Registration closes on Tuesday, June 23 at 12:00 noon QUALIFYING FOR REGION 1 MEET The top 8 finishers in each event in each age group from each of the six associations in Region 1 qualify for the meet. Those associations are Adirondack, Connecticut, Long Island, Maine, New England, and New York. Waivers into Region 1 - Individuals requesting a waiver from their association meet into Region 1 must use and submit the request to the individual's association youth chair who makes the final decision. COMPETITION SCHEDULE The championship is contested as a 4 day meet DAILY SCHEDULE (LINK upated June 16 - new Sunday schedule) Information, including facility layout and restrictions, directions, and field event requirements will be added to this website. Track Events The 100, 200, and short hurdles will have trials and finals All other events will have only sections run on time. Field Event facilities 2 shot put circles 1 javelin runway - grass 1 hammer/discus cage 2 long/triple jump runways, one doubling as pole vault runway Horizontal jumps and throws receive 3 attempts with the top 8 advancing to a 3 attempt final Vertical Jumps Opening Heights Opening-Heights2025.pdf Restricted and monitored areas on the infield will be designated for spectators and coaches for horizontal jumps and the shot put. Those areas will be flushed out between each event being contested. Relays - Only indivdiuals who were on team rosters as of their association championship meet date or who have verifiable documentation that a club transfer was in process on that date are eligible to compete on a relay team. Individuals may not compete out of age group - older or younger. At relay check-in, participant names will be verified against rosters from the association meet. Relay teams not meeting eligibility requirements will not be allowed to participate. ENTRY: All entry is online only through athletic.net. Individual events - $13 per event Relays - $52 ($13/athlete) Decathlon/Heptathlon - $50 Pentathlon/Triathlon - $25 DEADLINE - Tuesday June 23, at 12:00 noon. LATE REGISRATION PERIOD - June 23 12:01 p.m thru June 23 at 6 p.m. LATE REGISTRATION FEE is an additional $25 PER EVENT FACILITY NOTES PARKING Except for officials and valid handicap permits, all parking is on campus lots a short walk from the track. There will be no drive-by and drop-off. Bring a cart. Parking in restricted and posted No Parking areas will result in ticketing and towing. Meet management supports this. SPECTATOR ADMISSION FEE Spectator Ticket purchases is entirely online Daily - $ 12 4 day - $ 35 Age 12 and under - Free 3-Step Compliant Coaches - Free (proof required) Only 3 step compliant coaches will be allowed on the infield for any purpose. They will be issued a credential which must be worn at all times. HOTELS There is no specific host hotel or hotel room block at this time Massachusetts North Shore is a tourist destination, so hotel seaerches should start wtih the towns of Danvers and Peabody MA going north on I-95 or heading south on I-95 through Waltham MA The meet is prior to the start of "tourist season" / July 4 weekend ADVANCEMENT TO NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP National Information Page The top 5 (FIVE) finishers in each event at the Region 1 meet will again qualify for the National championships to be held July 27 - August 2 at Cerritos College in Norwalk, California In the combined events and the race walk (all divisions), the top 2 (two) finishers in each division from Region 1 qualify for Nationals, as well as lower placing athletes who achieve the qualifying standard stated on the National Championship website; the standard must be achieved at the association or Region 1 meet.
