Youth Athletics events are for individuals age 6-18. Competitions are generally held in two year age groups, though some meets may combine age groups in smaller events.
USATF events age divisions are based on year of birth (age on December 31 of a year); some youth meets run with age on day of event. Check entry information for proper divisions. Junior Olympics is the USATF youth competition program for track & field and cross country running with advancement from Asociation to Regional to National levels by places achieved at the lower level. The New England Junior Olympic Championship meets are open to all competitors. 2024 Age divisions 8/under Born 2016-2018 9-10 Born 2014-2015 11-12 Born 2012-2013 13-14 Born 2010-2011 15-16 Born 2008-2009 17-18 Born 2006-2007 and for track & field (not cross country), born after July 28 2005 Youth members should submit a proof of date of birth at when obtaining their USATF membership for the first time.
