July 11-14 USATF Region 1 Championship Icahn Stadium, New York City NY Top 8 (eight) from New England meet qualify for Regionals July 23-28 USATF National Junior Olympic Championships Texas Top 5 (five) from Region 1 meet qualify for Nationals
Youth Athletics events are for individuals age 5-18 with competition in two year age groups based on year of birth. Junior Olympics is the developmental youth competition program with participats advancing from Association (no qualifying needed) to Regional to National levels by place in the previous meet. Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships
Entry into the 2021 National Junior Olympic Championship meet is "Direct Entry". Because many associations and regions around the country were unable to secure facilities for meets due to Covid / facility access issues, there is no advancement by level to the National Junior Olympic meet in 2021. National JO entry is open to all youth, with some verifiable entry standards required. 2021 YOUTH EVENTS IN THE NEW ENGLAND ASSOCIATION May 22, 29, June 5 - Youth mini-meet series, Gordon College, Wenham MA USATF members only, USATF club members only (no unattached except HS) RESULTS of all 3 meets June 12 - Youth Invitational, Gordon College, Wenham MA Session 9:00-12:30 for ages 12/under, 1:30-6:00 for ages 13 and up RESULTS June 19 - USATF-NE Youth Championships, Gordon College, Wenham MA In place of the NE Junior Olympic meet. Some Covid restrictions will be implemented.
