June 1 - THE 2020 USATF-NE GRAND PRIX IS CANCELLED With only one event completed, two events cancelled, and uncertainty facing the remaing three races, USATF-NE has chosed to cancel the 2020 Grand Prix Series At this time (6/1) the Allen Melo 10 Mile In August in Auburn NH plans to continue to serve as the USATF-NE 10 Mile championship with some novel racing and scoring possibilities Except for the 5 Mile Championship held in February, the remaining 2020 races will be moved forward and serve as the 2021 championships and in the 2021 Grand Prix. The 5 Mile distance will be put out for bid in the fall. ***** While there are hundreds of road running events each year in the USATF-NE states, among the highest quality are the seven USATF-NE championship events that compose the Grand Prix. The USATF-NE Road Race Grand Prix, with races ranging in distance from 5km through the marathon, has offered association individuals and teams quality scored competition and fun club participation for over 30 years (check the series history link below). Indivdual scoring is done for open runners and in 5 year age groups for age 40 and over. Team scoring is in open and 10 year masters categories. Runners completing all seven series races earn the coveted "Irorunner" designation and jacket. *** Teams must participate in a minimum of 3 races to be eligible for end of series prize money. Members vote on the slate of races in November following review of bid applications submitted by interested events in the four states. *** New women's team scoring rules for 2019 - more team scorers are needed for open women, women 40+, and 50+ in some races.
